GLP-2 is a 33-amino-acid peptide belonging to the glucagon superfamily, studied primarily for its role in intestinal growth, barrier function, and epithelial repair. It binds to the GLP-2 receptor, which is predominantly expressed in the gastrointestinal tract. In vitro, GLP-2 is used to investigate enterocyte proliferation, mucosal regeneration, and nutrient absorption mechanisms.
